Homework Schedule

Homework will come home on Mondays packed inside the Homework Folder. Please keep all homework and the folder at home during the week. Pack up all completed homework inside the Homework Folder to turn in on Fridays. Please keep monthly sight word flashcards and math fact flashcards at home in a special spot so you have them handy for weekly practice. Any game directions are yours to keep as well, to enable repeated play at home

for extra practice as needed.

Please remember to fill in your child’s Reading Log each night, Monday through Thursday. During the 20 minutes of daily reading practice, please do each of the following activities:

· listen to your child read the “just right” book they brought home from school

· practice reading the monthly list of sight words

· read a book to your child

Your child will earn points for each week that they meet their reading goal of 80 minutes logged. There will be monthly prizes for each reader who meets this goal! J

Here is the daily schedule for homework:

Monday 1. Practice your spelling words for the month! Spelling tests usually fall on the last Thursday of the month. Reading Log – 20 minutes (include sight word practice)	Tuesday 1. Math practice sheet or game. Reading Log – 20 minutes (include sight word practice)
Wednesday 1. Flashcard practice: Please practice for 5- 10 minutes! Record the number of minutes practiced on your green math log. (Refer to the parent letter and activity packet that was sent home for ideas!) Reading Log – 20 minutes (include sight word practice)	Thursday 1. Math practice sheet or game. Reading Log – 20 minutes (include sight word practice)
Friday 1. Homework Folders are due today. 2. Please complete all homework in pencil. 3. Write your name on all sheets.	Notes: Check this section out for any important news, notes or reminders for the week!
