Getting Started

1.           Start

2.           Programs

3.           Microsoft Power Point

4.           Choose blank presentation

5.           Choose slide layout

 

Text

6.           Click on the words

7.           Type your text

 

Editing Text

1.     Click in front of first word

2.     Click, hold, and drag across all text that you want to change.

3.     Go to “format” on the menu bar

4.     Scroll down to “font”

5.     Change type of text, size, and color.

6.     Click OK

 

Saving Pictures From the Internet

1.     Place your cursor on the picture that you want to save

2.     Right click

3.     Scroll to “Save picture as

4.     Navigate to “Yourschool$

5.     Then “Yourteacher’s” folder

6.     Then “Yourname” folder

7.     Name your picture (no capitals and no spaces)

8.     Click “Save”

 

Inserting Pictures

1.     Go to “Insert”

2.     Scroll to picture

3.     Choose “From File”

4.     Navigate to “Yourschool$

5.     Then “Yourteacher’s” folder

6.     Then “Yourname” folder

7.     Click on the picture you want, then click “insert”.

 

Adding Animation and Sound

1.     Click on words or picture.  (A box should appear to outline it)

2.     Go to “slide show”

3.     Scroll down to “custom animation”

4.     Click on arrow next to “no effect” to choose movement

8.     Click on arrow next to “no sound” to choose sound

9.     Click OK

 

Inserting a new slide (page)

1.     Go to “Insert”

2.     Scroll down to “New Slide”

 

Saving Your Presentation ****FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!

1.     Go to File

2.     Scroll down to “Save As”

3.     Click on arrow next to “Save In” field

4.     Navigate to “Yourschool$

5.     Then “Yourteacher’s” folder

6.     Then “Yourname” folder

7.     Name it (no capitals and no spaces)

8.     Click “Save”

9.     After you have saved the first time, go to File

10.            Scroll to “save”.  This will save everything you have created into the same file!

 

Showing Your Presentation

1.     Go to “slide show”

2.     Scroll to “view slide show” to watch presentation
