Podcasting Activity

You are going to work in groups of 3. Each person in your group will have a job!

Person 1=News Anchor

Person 2=Field Reporter

Person 3=Meteorologist

Choose any place on earth to broadcast from! Use your imagination. Where would you most like to go? Research the weather in this place for this time of year and any other interesting facts you can learn about your choice destination. Produce a newscast for this place. One person will be the anchor, another, a field reporter, and the third, a meteorologist. You must come up with realistic stories and a weather report for that region.

Work as a team to ask good questions. Be sure to give details about the city you are in! It must be a real city.

1. Create a script for the people in your group

2. Go to START-Programs-AUDACITY

3. Click RECORD

4. Record your broadcast

5. Save your broadcast as an MP3

6. Post it to your Pow-Pak Website

a. Click ADD Podcast Page from within your edit view

b. Enter a title

c. Click UPDATE

d. Click BACK to edit Podcast Page

e. Choose EDIT BELOW the title of your page and NEXT to EPISODE

f. Click ADD

g. Click BROWSE to locate your saved Podcast

h. Fill in EPISODE INFORMATION (this is what people will click on to open your Podcast)

i. Click UPDATE

7. Add a digital picture of your group to the site.
