Good Morning Teachers!

I hope that many of you are relaxing on a well deserved day off.  I met many of you during Materials Camp 2008 at Case Western this summer.  I hope that the program was useful to you and you're putting some of your new information to use in the classroom.

I mentioned during the closing of Materials Camp that the ASM Cleveland Chapter offers many programs throughout the year for teachers and students, and I wanted to let you all know about one of the largest which is coming up on November 12.

Our Young Members Night is traditionally for high school and middle school students and teachers and we feature a talk which will (hopefully) encourage students to consider a career in science and engineering.

This year I am proud to report that we will be featuring a talk about green design and engineering - held at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, and our featured speaker is a principal architect in the firm that helped to "green" the renovation of the Nature Center a few years ago.  He will be talking alternative energy, materials and considerations in building or renovating.  This topic seems to be all over these days, and we're excited to bring him in to talk to students regarding their role in the future of green technology - in a venue that exemplifies what can be done with what we currently have.

Teachers, students and parents are all welcome at this event for FREE.  Yes, that's right, and you also get dinner as well!

I've attached a flyer with more information - and if you (or your students) would like to attend, please reserve your spot by November 3.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for all that you do and I hope to see you on November 12!
