METRICS COMPUTER LAB

PRACTICE

You have been assigned to do the activities for METRICS MATTER. You will need pencil, colored pencils and paper. Follow the instructions listed below.

Instructions for doing METRICS MATTER:

1. Put your name, date and period in the upper right corner of your paper.

2. Title your paper Metrics Matter

3. Go the Mrs. Vontroba’s Web page

4. Scroll down to Introductory Unit

5. Click on Metrics

6. Click on Metrics Computer Lab Practice

• Click on http://tqjunior.thinkquest.org/3804/

7. Read the information next to the rocket.

8. Copy the paragraph that starts with the words, “The metric system, which is based on…”

Length:

9. Click on the word Length at the top, middle of the page. Complete the activity.

10. Copy the Conversion Chart. Color the background of the Conversion Chart yellow. Click on the back arrow.

Volume:

11. Click on Volume.

12. Complete the activity. Next, click on Return Back to Main Page.

Mass:

13. Click on Mass. Complete the activity. Copy the sentence written below using a red pencil:

“Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object.”

15.Read the information. Click on Return to Main Page.

Temperature:

16. Click on Temperature. Complete the activity. Click on Return to Main Page.

Time:

17. Click on Time. Complete the activity. Click on Return to Main Page.
