Hispanic Recipe Project
Your Job Is To:
- Find the recipe for a Hispanic dish.
- Record the source of your recipe (Internet, cookbook,
relative, etc.).
- Identify the country of origin of your recipe.
- Write a brief summary about what country your dish is
from and include unique cultural facts about that country.
- Acquire the necessary ingredients and prepare the dish
at home.
- Bring the dish to school to share with your classmates
and me.
- Rate the dish after tasting in class.
- Record the recipe and the rating on the Hispanic Recipe
database online.
Suggested Course Of Actions:
- Use Internet search engines to scour the web for
Hispanic recipes.
- You can find different search engines at:
http://westlake.k12.oh.us/whslibrary/Searching.htm
- Try using words like "Spanish" "food" "recipe" and
"cook" "Latino" "Hispanic" "South American" "Central American" when you conduct your search.
- If you get stuck and cannot find any recipes, you may
use some that I have found for you.
To get maximum credit for this project, however, you should find your own
recipe sources. Click here ONLY if

HELP ME!
- Decide upon which recipe you'd like to prepare and
print out the recipe.
Make sure you include:
- Name of the dish.
- Ingredients and amounts needed.
- Directions for preparing the dish.
- Source (where you got the recipe from).
- Country of origin of the dish.
- Unique cultural information information about your
country.
- Get the ingredients you need to and prepare the dish.
It would be a good idea to create the dish for your family first to make sure
you get it right for the dish you prepare for class.
- After we share the dishes, we will enter the recipes
into a master Hispanic recipe database that will be available as an Online
Hispanic Recipe Cookbook.
- We will also complete a survey that rates the various
dishes.
Buen Provecho!
