These are the 3 standards that are on the Parkside report card.

Standard 1

Demonstrates an understanding

of materials,

processes, tools,

media, techniques

and available technology.

(Basically it means – how well the student used the media / tools used to create a specific work of art.)

Standard 2

Understands and uses

art elements,

principles,

and images

to communicate ideas.

(Basically it means – Did the student keep in mind Emphasis, Balance, Harmony, Variety, Movement, Rhythm, Proportion/Scale, Unity AND Color, Form, Line, Shape, Space, Texture and Value while creating their work of art.)

Standard 3

Understands and uses

vocabulary to analyze,

interpret,

and evaluate visual art;

responds thoughtfully

to perspectives of others.

(Basically it means –

well….this one makes sense : - )
