Homework Policy: In order to maintain the continuity of instruction, homework is due the day it is assigned to be turned in to be corrected.  If the homework is not turned in, the student has one day to turn in their work in order to avoid a zero in the grade book.  Absent students have as many days as they are absent to turn in their missing work. As a team, we aim to have no more than one hour of homework per night. Please support your child’s education by preparing for success in the classroom.

Any work that is turned in that was completed at  less than an 80% level can be corrected to earn up to an 80% level. Corrections need to be on a separate sheet of paper that is stapled to the top of the old assignment. The corrected assignment needs to be turned in the day after being returnedto/received by the student.  I will not accept week 2 assignments at the end of the quarter when you realize you need some points.

REMEMBER

·  Gifted children are fluent thinkers, able to generate possibilities, consequences, or related ideas.

·  They are flexible thinkers, able to use many different alternatives and approaches to problem solving.

·  They are original thinkers, seeking new, unusual, or unconventional associations and combinations among items of information.

·  They can also see relationships among seemingly unrelated objects, ideas, or facts.

·  They are elaborate thinkers, producing new steps, ideas, responses, or other embellishments to a basic idea, situation, or problems.

·  They are willing to entertain complexity and seem to thrive on problem solving.

·  They are good guessers and can readily construct hypotheses or "what if" questions.
