English 10H - Periods 3 and 4/5 English 10H helps students to
further develop skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through a
traditional approach. Students read a variety of fiction and nonfiction, do
extensive writing including a library research paper, make several oral
presentations, and also continue a vocabulary program which they started as
freshmen. This course fulfills 1.00 credit of
English for graduation. |

Women
in American Literature – Period 7/8 Students in Women in American
Literature will read fiction and nonfiction written by American women. They will explore the influence of women
writers throughout America’s history.
They will look at the trends and movements that
women writers have been involved in.
This course fulfills .5 credits of English for graduation. |

Composition – Period 9/10 English 11 Composition provides
intense training in the area of composition that students will need to be
successful in every career. Whether
college bound or bound for the world of work, this class will prepare students
for effective written communication.
Students will compose works from every mode of writing as well as hone
grammar skills. This course fulfills
.5 credits of English for graduation. |

Bound Independent Literature – Period 8 Students enrolled in College Bound Independent Literature will
be afforded the opportunity to read self-selected selections as well as
selections from various college bound reading lists. This class allows students who enjoy
reading and analyzing literature the opportunity to do just that and earn
credit toward graduation. |
Teacher information
This
is Mrs. Bakos’ eighteenth year of teaching.
In her tenure here, she has taught each grade level. She has a bachelor’s degree in Education from
Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in Educational
Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in technology from Cleveland
State University.
