Independent Reading Unit Update

· Reading selections that have a movie version will no longer be accepted in this unit.

· Reading material that is read at lower grade levels is not acceptable.

· Students will need to complete a book talk at the completion of reading.

o Prior to this talk, students should complete reading the selection and complete the worksheet.

o This will take some advance planning, and reading should be completed well before the end of the quarter.

o Students will sign up on the “Book Talk Sign Up” list as soon as possible. Once slots are filled, there are none that will be added.

· Worksheet will be worth 20 points; Book Talk will be worth 20 points.
