EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY:
VOCABULARY SEARCH
In an effort to
prepare students for the OAA and any other standardized test, I am
offering an extra credit opportunity.
If a student finds a word that we have studied from any chapter in
the vocabulary book in any
reading material*, he/she is to bring that material to me, show me the
word in the vocabulary book, define the word, and the student will
receive 2 extra credit points. Students are allowed a maximum of
five words per quarter.
* Internet sources are not
eligible for extra credit. It is
too easy for a student to search for the word part, print out a page and
not actually read. The goal of this
extra credit is two-fold; students learn the definition of a word, and
they are being active readers.
