This site provides classroom objectives and homework assignments, extra credit opportunities, and science-project-related information.   It also contains links to some of my favorite sites on the Web, both chemistry-related and otherwise.   I hope you enjoy visiting some of the interesting sites I've found, but don't forget to do your homework.  Surfing the web isn't an excuse for not having your work done!

	STUDENT PAGES FOR PRENTICE HALL'S CHEMISTRY -- The companion web site for the text used in our Regular Chemistry classes.  This site contains internet links, self-tests, and many other valuable resources.  A priceless resource for regular chemistry students!
	WEB ELEMENTS  --  A site providing information on all the elements, including their physical and chemical properties.  Will even give you the electron configurations!  Visit this interesting site in the United Kingdom!  Tally-ho!
	CREATIVE CHEMISTRY ON THE INTERNET --  Video taped experiments from the laboratory of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.  Includes text and a power point for each one.  The CCI project includes currently 200 experiments in English, searchable by keyword, element, or topic.  Try "Thermal decomposition of Ammonium dichromate (Volcano)" for a hot time!
	DELIGHTS OF CHEMISTRY  --  From the University of Leeds, England.  40 chemistry demonstrations illustrated and explained.   Over 500 chemistry photos and stunning chemistry movies and animations.  Check out the animation for the "Phosphorus Moon."  Delightful!
	ONLINE CONVERSION --  Ever wonder how much you weigh in, say, carats?  You can find out here, as well as converting miles to kilometers, pounds to kilograms, and numerous others.  Why not make your life a little easier by letting Online Conversion check the tricky math for you?
	FERMI PARTICLE ACCELERATOR  --  Educational activities from FermiLab.  Click on the students link to find comics, animations, timelines, and games.
	NOBEL PRIZES IN CHEMISTRY  --  A listing of Nobel Prize winners from 1901 to the present.  Check out the link to Linus Pauling!
	MOLECLE OF THE MONTH  --  This web site highlights the complete chemistry of a different molecule each month.  Also has 3-D molecular images and animations!
	STEVE MARSDEN'S CHEMISTRY RESOURCES  --  An extensive listing of chemistry related websites.  You can even access the entire "World of Chemistry" video series.
	THE EXPLORATORIUM  --  Visit the World-Famous San Francisco museum online!  Interactive exhibits, video and sound clips, and more!
	BODNER RESEARCH WEB  --  Purdue University's Chemistry Department presents lecture demonstration movies.  A quicktime video of the demonstration, a brief description of the materials used, pictures of the equipment used, observations, and explanations for each one.
	CHEM CENTRAL  --  From Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  A great high school Chemistry site, organized by topic/chapter.
	PBS :  NOVA:  KABOOM!  --  Everything you ever wanted to know about pyrotechnics.
	SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN MAGAZINE  --  A great site loaded with general science information.  Every article is filled with links for additional info!  (Could be a great resource for Exploravision projects!)

	CHEMISTRY STUDY CARDS  --  A collection of ready to print study cards.  Each card provides an outline of essential information related to that topic - could be useful in the development of your "crib sheet".  Each set of cards is saved as an Adobe Acrobat file.
	SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN --  The magazine on the web.  Great articles, trivia, photo gallery, etc.  Check it out!
	BIO INTERACTIVE --  Sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  Check out virtual labs, virtual museum, and many other resources.  At least the old eccentric left his billions to a good cause!
	FERMI PARTICLE ACCELERATOR  --  Educational activities from FermiLab.  Click on the students link to find comics, animations, timelines, and games.
	FROG LAND  --  Learn about my favorite animal!  Includes WEIRD Frog Facts, Frogs In the News, and the Frog Joke of the Day.
	SPACE WANDER -- Take a virtual space-trip to the depths of the Universe! All of SpaceWander's space pictures are real NASA images! This award-winning multimedia space tour takes about 12 minutes (a fast connection makes the trip more enjoyable).
	DIVE AND DISCOVER  --  Ride along on deep sea expeditions of the Pacific and Indian oceans.  Check out the latest discoveries and monitor exploration of the sea floor along with the actual scientists on the research cruise!
	CHEM TEAM -- A tutorial for high school chemistry.  Provides study resources indexed by topic for students in high school and AP chemistry.
	TERRA SERVER -- The Microsoft TerraServer Web site is one of the world's largest online databases, providing free public access to a vast data store of maps and aerial photographs of the United States. Find your house, your school, and famous places in the United States!  An AWESOME site!
	TOSHIBA EXPLORAVISION --  The web page for our Science Projects.  Includes tips, ideas, info on prizes, etc.  A handy resource that you can access 24/7 from home!
	NPR'S SCIENCE FRIDAY -- Join author & journalist Ira Flatow (rhymes with Plato...) as he and his guests discuss the fascinating world of science. Heard locally on National Public Radio (WCPN, 90.3 FM), Friday afternoons from 2 - 4 p.m.
	CLEVELAND LIVE  --  The Online Guide to the World's Greatest City!  Find out what 's happening this week!
	IQ TEST --  Take an online I.Q. test!  Decide for yourself:  Are I.Q. tests are real measures of intelligence, or do they just measure how well you can take a test?
	WACKY USES.COM -- Did you ever wonder how Ivory Soap was invented?  Or what WD-40 stands for?  Check out this site for information on how common products can be used for unconventional applications!
	THE THINKQUEST LIBRARY -- This is a yearly international competition for students ages 12-19 around the world and their coaches. Through ThinkQuest, students work together in teams, use the Internet to research a topic in science, mathematics, literature, the social sciences or the arts, and publish their research as an educational web site for peers and classrooms around the world. Search this library of past projects using the keyword chemistry!
