Absent for a food lab?

You may choose one of the following to earn credit for a missed food lab.

1.     Make the missed lab recipe at home.

a.     Take home your recipe cards from Mrs. Betka’s classroom.

b.     Have a parent/guardian write a note evaluating your ability to make the food item. (you can take pictures too!)

c.      Bring in a sample (a small one please!) of the food for Mrs. Betka to evaluate.

2.    Find an article related to nutrition topics and type a paragraph summary about what you learned from the article.  This paragraph is a reaction to the article, not a full summary.  The article must be attached, so the paragraph shouldn’t be solely a summary.

a.     Where can you find an article?

                                                             i.      Newspapers, magazines, internet or the Westlake High School Library webpage.

ii.      Check the Plain Dealer website, American Dietetic Association website, and Cooking Light website.

iii.      You must turn in a copy of the article, a reference of where you found the article, and a complete paragraph reacting to the information the article gave you with correct spelling and grammar.
