Business
Education Philosophy
The Business Education program is designed to educate students in the skills, processes, understandings and responsibilities necessary for success in the world of business. As the business world changes, so will the need for lifelong learning and ongoing refinement of personal abilities. Through these programs, it is hoped that students will develop their capabilities in these areas. The
Business Education program will provide all students the opportunity to
develop an understanding of current business concepts, practices, techniques
and tools. It will support student
learning in other subject areas. Most
importantly, the Business Education program will provide an authentic workplace
environment and curriculum that encourages students to set goals and strive
to attain them, while developing an understanding of key concepts and
achieving skills necessary for personal success. |

1. The ability to key and format materials accurately at an appropriate speed for the copy involved and to appreciate the importance of a neat and attractive formatted copy. 2. Apply communication skills in composing and preparing effective, well-written, and ready-to-mail letters, memos, reports, and envelopes according to criteria outlined in Business English text. 3. Prepare and deliver oral presentations. a. Evaluate the audience and demographic variables so that the oral presentation will appeal to the intended audience based upon the criteria outlined in classroom handouts. b.
