Saving a Video
Click on this icon for movies Please read all directions carefully Mistakes? We can't fix them if you don't let us know

Description:
The directions below are for saving a video to a common area - the pastaff directory.  The reasons for doing it this way instead of saving it to your S drive are as follows:

  • Videos saved in a common location will help all teachers in a subject area

  • Less space will be needed to store these videos since there wouldn't be any duplicating of files (i.e. teachers wouldn't inadvertently download the same file)

Please try searching for your videos via One-Classroom.  The link is on your teacher resource page
After putting in keywords for your search, check the boxes of the resources you'd like to search.

If you'd only like to search Discovery Videos, then check that box only

After finding a suitable video from the search results, click on a - either to download the entire video or just a segment of the video.

If the movie starts playing in Windows Media Player (even though you've clicked the disc), Right-Click the top navigation bar and choose File / Save As

Choose the folder within pastaff, rename the file if needed, and click Save

Email other like-subject teachers so they know there's a new movie

  Notes:

Note that when you go into pastaff there are folders at the top of the list for each discipline.  Within each folder are other category folders that people have created - put the movies into one of these folders.
