Setup Assignment Types 

See Movie

  • In the name area, type in the assignment type
  • In the Abbr, type in a 2-3 letter abbreviation for that type
  • Choose Points or Percents in the Mark Type

 

What classes do these assignments types apply to?

Check the boxes of the classes you wish that assignment type to apply to.  (If you choose to use the All box, this might have to be applied twice)

Set up Calculation Methods and Weights

Select either Straight or Weighted Average

 

If you weight your grades by assignment type, type in numbers in the appropriate boxes.  Make sure they add up to 100

Set up Grading Scales

Click link on either Teacher Home Page or Dashboard   

 

Parkside teachers use Custom setup 2.    See the other set of instructions

 

 

For LBMS and HS teachers only

Custom setup 1

Choose Setup 1

Choose the appropriate grading scale for your situation. 

Note:  That if you teach classes with 2 different scales, you will have to complete this part twice.  Note in the pull-down menu above what class you are working with

 

Click Save Next

 

The student override step is identify students that are another scale.  But...since we don't have any other alternative scales, click Save Next.  See your administrator if you wish to have an alternative scale set up.

Check any boxes this grading scale apply to and click Copy. 

 

Optional:  If you need to set grade scales for other classes, click the Mapping tab, choose a classes, and follow the same steps as above.

That completes the setup for the HS and LBMS teachers.  Click on the in the upper left.
