Hardware:  How to scan

Below are the instructions for the HP5200 Scanner; however, these instructions should work for any other make of scanner since we currently use system software (XP) to scan.

 
Put document to be scanned in scanner. 

Look for reference corner (A)
 
Double click My Computer
Double click scanner icon at bottom of page

Once the preview has been completed, you can move the corner square ‘handles’ if you want just a portion of the scanned page

Put your name and a short description in the file name field, then click

 

Click the sign in front of My computer, then click on your home directory.  (The drive that has your name and the S next to it in parenthesis)

Notice that if you want to create a new folder, there is a button to do so.
