Create your own distribution lists in Outlook

Description: There are several ways to create a new distribution list.  These instructions show how to create a Distribution list of people that are not in the district
 

In Outlook, click the down arrow next to New and choose Distribution List

 

Type in a name for the distribution list
 
To type email addresses in, click Add New
Type in a name for the contact and their email address.

Check the Add to Contacts box if you wish to add the email to your contacts list.

 

Once you click the OK button, you should see the email listed in the pane below.

Once all emails have been typed in, click the Save and Close

 

To send emails to this new list
  • Click to start a new email
     
  • Click the To button

     
  • Click the down arrow in the address book field and choose Contacts

     
  • Find the distribution list you created and double-click its name

     
  • Note that it's now in the To field.  Click OK.  Type your email and then Send

To edit your distribution list, click Contacts, find the distribution list, and double-click it.

Add as you did in the step 3 above.

Remove a member of the list by selecting the name and clicking

Note - do not click the   This deletes the whole distribution list
