EGP:  Keeping Records


 

Description:

Easy Grade Pro has several places to keep records on students.  Some of these are optional on progress reports.

Score Footnotes

Whenever you are inputting scores, you may also insert one of 7 optional comments.

To do this:

·          Right-click the cell you put the grade in

·          Choose one of the seven comments

·          Footnotes can be erased by choosing ***No Footnote*** at the top of the list

·          It’s best to set the wording of your footnotes at the beginning of the term.  Do this by clicking on the class options icon  in the toolbar.  Highlight what’s there and retype.

Progress report option

·          When you’re doing progress reports and you want score footnotes to show - on the Progress Report Options dialog box, click the set button on

On the dialog box that opens, check or uncheck

 Score Notes

Description:  Again, while you are inputting scores, you may type in a few sentences on that specific assignment – for a specific student.

To do this:

·          Double click the cell that contains the score.

·          Type your comment in the middle section.  Note that if you also have a footnote for this score, it will be displayed at the bottom. 

Progress report option

·          The default in the format field is Note is for Teacher, Footnote is for student.  Without changing anything, this will not show up on progress reports. 

If you wish to have this note show up on progress reports, choose Note is for Student in the format box

Summary:  Student Notes

Description:  Use Student Notes in the Summaries section to put up to 3 pages of information about a particular student.  Optional for progress reports.

To do this:

·          Click on the Summaries icon on the toolbar

·          Click on the  tab

·          Make sure the correct student is selected as well as the correct term.

·          Type in the main section

·          Use the clipboard icon  to insert stored text

·          Do a spell check if needed.

·          When you are doing progress reports and are on the Progress Report Option dialog box, check or uncheck

Summary:  Student Comments

Description:  Use the Student Comments view (shown below) to apply comments to students for progress reports or grade export files. There are two lists in this view: the upper list displays the comments that have been applied and the lower list displays the available comments.

To do this:

·          Click on the Summaries icon on the toolbar

·          Click on the  tab.

·          Single click on comments in the bottom window to insert.

·          To delete comments, click on the number in front of the comment in the top window

·          To edit comments or make your own, click on the lower window’s .  Don’t forget to put a   ^   at the beginning of each comment.

Progress report option

·          When you are doing progress reports and are on the Progress Report Option dialog box, check or uncheck
