Blogging with Blogspot:  The Basics

Description:   This set of instructions is for use when you have a blog through blogspot (google).  There are other blogging services.  See your tech resource teacher for help, if needed.
 

 
Opening Your Blog
Go to your blog via the web.  In the top right, click Sign In
Click the New Blogger link at the top right
 
Put in your username and password

You'll then see a place to manage your blog

 
 

 
Creating New Posts
Log in and click on  
Type in a title for your new post and then the content.  You can change font attributes (bold, italic, etc), add links, pictures, ect.  When you're done, click Publish.
     
Editing a Post
Log in and click on Posts
Click the Edit link to edit the posting.  When you're done editing, click

     
     
Moderating Comments
You can elect to 'moderate' comments people make to your posts.  This is done by going to the Settings tab, the comments menu and Enabling Comment Moderation.  Put your email address in the field.

Then, when someone makes a comment, the comment will not immediately get posted.  You will receive an email. In the email, you'll be given the opportunity to accept the comment at which time it will then be published, or to not accept the comment at which time it will be deleted.
