DIRECTIONS FOR SAVING RECORDED SOUND FILES AS MP3 FILES USING AUDACITY

To get AUDACITY (free program)...

• Go to: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
• Follow directions to download the appropriate file.
  These directions assume you are using a PC with WINDOWS,
  so for most of you that will be:  Windows 1.2.6s 
   
• Click on Audacity 1.2.6 installer
   
• If you see this security warning at the top of your screen, click on it and select DOWNLOAD FILE...
  
  
   
• When you see the FILE DOWNLOAD - SECURITY WARNING box... select RUN
  
  
   

TO EXPORT SOUND FILES IN MP3 FORMAT... YOU WILL ALSO NEED

To acquire the file necessary for Audacity to EXPORT files as an MP3 file...

• LAME MP3 encoder - Allows Audacity to export MP3 files.
