Westlake Relays Champs!

The girls won their 5th Westlake Relays title in six years with a balanced performance that saw every member of the team finish in the top three or above.  Leading the team on the track were the relays of the 4x400 and Sprint Medley (Hayley Smik, Liz Kobe, Lauren Hurst, Maddie Sandhu, Elisa Khawam, Andi DeMarsh, and Erin D’Ettorre) while on the field, the Pole Vault team (Julie Solarz, Morgan Jenkins, and Elisa Brises) also took home 1st place honors.  Great job all!

1-1          & More PV Success!

Starting their week with a 1-1 result at the last tri-meet of the year, the girls finished up the week with fine performances at Avon Relays, led once again by the Pole Vault relay team of Jamie Hamilton (who set a new PR) and Julie Solarz.  Results for both meets will be posted soon!

1-2       Pole Vault Success!

The Lady Demons had a tough week with an 0-2 duel meet record and a 25th place relay finish, but the pole vaulters continued their success with a tie for 1st place at the Brecksville/Amherst duel and then followed that up with a 5th place finish at Amherst Comet Relays.  Great job to Jamie Hamilton and Julie Solarz!

1-0       @ Home & 4th @ Lakewood

The girls started the season 3-0 with a Spring Break victory over Olmsted Falls before the girls’ five meet streak of championships at Lakewood was snapped with a 4th place finish.  Still, several standout performances took place, including the 1st place PV relay team of Jamie Hamilton, Julie Solarz, and Olivia Wilson.  Results will be updated soon!

2-0 at Berea!

The girls started their season with a 2-0 sweep of Berea and Midpark in their first tri-meet of the year as they swept all the relay events en route to winning 12 of the 17 total events.  Several standout performances took place, including newcomer Rachel Collins earning her first victory in the 400m while long-time distance specialist Liz Kobe took first in the 200m sprint.  Veteran athletes Kelli Essi (100H) and Sarah Solarz (PV) helped lead a balanced attack that saw a number of impressive early season performances.  Click on the results tab above for more details!
