Senior Project
Mentor Information
Thank you for considering being a participant in the
Westlake City Schools Senior Project. The role of the Mentor is essential to the
success of the Senior Project. You will play an active and integral part in the
student’s learning experience. Through the experiences provided by you and your
organization, the student should gain an in-depth understanding of your
professional world.
Responsibilities:
- Discuss and agree upon goals and expectations for the
Senior Project. The goals and expectations should be obtainable during the
timeframe discussed.
- Advise and guide the student on his/her project and
sign a weekly timesheet indicating the hours he/she has completed.
- Assign responsibilities and duties that are a real
indication of work in your career environment.
- A dress code may be appropriate.
- Evaluate students upon completion of the Senior
Project using the Mentor Evaluation Form.
Relevant Information:
- Senior Project begins on May 5th, 2008 and
ends on May 23rd, 2008. Presentations take place the week

the project. Please contact either Ann Peebles or Tim Clark about persistent
problems.
- A student may not be paid for his/her project.

the student. The student may not work at a relative’s place of employment.
- All contact with the school should be done through

only to him/her, but also to you as the Mentor and that both of you will gain
some satisfaction from the experience. Thank you for your interest and
